The post holder will be based at Whittington Hospital but will occasionally visit community sites to support digital projects being rolled out or requiring assistance. The Trust has an experienced Pharmacy Digital and Informatics team, managing a portfolio of digital medicines management systems within the hospital, which will support the post holder. The post holder will be expected to support clinical and dispensary duties when required and be part of the bank holiday, weekend, late duty, and on-call rota where appropriate.

Main duties of the job

  • Responsible for the maintenance, development, and expansion of the suite of digital medicines management-related systems, supporting the Senior Pharmacy Digital and Informatics Pharmacist and Lead Technician.
  • Lead on the Business As Usual (BAU) responsibilities of the Pharmacy Digital and Informatics Team (e.g., system maintenance, configuration, training, and account management) and support the pharmacy robotics systems deployed within pharmacy and at ward level.
  • Support initial project setup (process mapping, baseline auditing, stakeholder engagement, training documentation, application testing, KPI agreements, etc.) for the pharmacy Digital Medicines Management System (which includes EPMA) and continue managing these systems.
  • Undertake appropriate investigations and solution designs, and support and facilitate the implementation of medicines-related digital systems in new clinical areas (e.g., Community, Emergency Department, etc.) with team support.
  • Play an active role in the continued implementation and maintenance of the hospital's electronic EPMA system (CMM) and other medicines-related systems alongside the existing Pharmacy Digital and Informatics team.
  • Support clinical and dispensary duties when required and be part of the bank holiday, weekend, late duty, and on-call rota where appropriate.

The Trustbelieves that as a public sector organisation we have an obligation to have recruitment, training, promotion and other formal employment policies and procedures that are sensitive to these differences.
