This is an exciting opportunity for a clinician, with experience working with children and young people, to join our Community Child and Adolescent Mental Health Team on the Isle of Wight. The community CAMHS Team is CQC rated Good and the team is a multidisciplinary team of approximately 40 members of staff who provide services to children and young people on the Island that are experiencing emotional health and wellbeing difficulties.
As part of your job role as an Inreach / Outreach Mental Health Practitioner it will be your responsibility to deliver brief therapeutic interventions for children and young people who have experienced mental health crisis.

The final combination of Southern Health and Solent NHS Trust services is expected in late 2024, when our new organisation, to be known as Hampshire and Isle of Wight Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust, will be formed.
Our new Trust will continue to cater to the unique needs of different communities, making healthcare across the county more accessible, as well as offering staff more opportunities for career development, training and partnership working.

As part of your job role as an Inreach / Outreach Mental Health Practitioner it will be your responsibility to deliver brief therapeutic interventions for children and young people who have experienced mental health crisis.
Main duties of the job
- Responsibility for assessing, devising, planning and instigating appropriate treatment plans that are evidence based, in support of the organisational and individual professional guidance and policies.
- Liaise with other agencies in planning and assessing programmes of care, providing consultation and training where appropriate.
- To carry out assessments (including emergency and urgent assessments) of children and families (on a joint or solo basis) who have been referred to Crisis and Community CAMHS.
- The need to promote a service that is safe, respects the views of the patient/client by actively promoting choice, engagement and involvement together in partnership with families and other agencies is fundamental to the delivery of the service.
- This is not an exhaustive list of duties and responsibilities and the post holder may be required to undertake other duties which fall within the grade of the job and/or hours of work at your initial place of work or at any of the Trusts establishments, in discussion with the line manager.
- Ensuring that child development and family dynamics are fundamental in the assessment when considering emotional health and wellbeing in an age appropriate and family context.
