We are seeking a well-motivated registered nurse to join our Nuclear Medicine team. The position is based at the Cumberland Infirmary, Carlisle. The position is part time, with the planned working pattern being five mornings per week. However, some flexibility in the working pattern can be accommodated.
Main duties of the job
This is an exciting time to join our department our service. The departments at WCH and CIC have undergone significant redevelopment with the installation of new SPECT/CT cameras at both sites. WCH and CIC undertake a wide range of imaging, non-imaging and out-patient therapy work.
The main duties will involve ensuring the highest standard of professional nursing care is provided to all patients attending the department, participating in clinical governance and clinical audit initiatives and ensuring evidence-based practice. Safely and accurately administer radiopharmaceuticals by oral and intravenous routes to adult and paediatric patients.
We would expect you to be a registered nurse. Some experience of working in an outpatient department, such as Radiology would be an advantage. Specific training in Nuclear Medicine will be provided by the lead nurse and other staff as appropriate.
The successful appointee will be an integral part of the local Nuclear Medicine team which includes clinical scientists, clinical technologists, nursing and administrative staff.
