We are looking to appoint a senior nurse who is enthusiastic and highly motivated. You will form part of the senior nursing team working in partnership with the Ward Manager, Matron and Head of Nursing. Part of your role will include providing leadership to the nursing team through the active promotion of trust values. This will involve contributing to further developing quality, patient experience, and patient safety agendas through improving quality methodology and Clinical Governance.
The Sister/Charge nurse is a senior role that requires a high degree of professionalism, attention to detail and accountability.
It is a clinical role, responsible for ensuring the delivery of clinical activities and coordinating care throughout the department. You will need excellent communication, listening, and problem-solving skills. You will work closely with our medical teams and liaise with other departments across the whole of MFT.
You will be responsible and act as professional role model and mentor for your junior colleagues and be involved in appraisals, absence management and rostering. You will work closely with the Ward Manager and Matron.
As part of the band 6 team you will attend ward meetings and ensure that information is shared with the wider team.
You will have link roles which will give you the opportunity to develop practice through audit and IQP. You will be involved in completing regular audits as required by the trust.
Main duties of the job
Opal House is an independent unit managed by MFT which has 41 beds and is for elderly patients who no longer require acute hospital care and are considered medically fit for discharge but need further assessment for discharge planning .
We are seeking an exceptional candidate who strives for excellence and high quality patient care who leads by example.You will be instrumental in supporting the Ward Manager, along with the existing Ward Sisters to ensure we provide evidence based care to all our patients .So if you are a nurse with at least 18 months post registration experience and are ready for a new challenge and have a passion to deliver high quality care then we would love to hear from you.
