The Emergency Department at the Luton & Dunstable Hospital is one of the busiest in the region. Due to Luton's unique location we see injuries from both urban and rural settings. The department is made up of several locations including Adult ED, Paediatric ED andMinor injuries, with an onsite GP service. The multidisciplinary teams we work closely with involve frailty, physiotherapy, clinical navigation and mental health.

We are currently undergoing an exciting redevelopment which will expand and modernise our clinical facilities.

We are looking to welcome experienced Registered Nurses to our Emergency Department team. This is a great opportunity to develop clinical and leadership skills in a fast-paced and forward-thinking environment. We will support you to become confident in the assessment, recognition and management of patients within the emergency setting.

Our successful applicants will benefit from the internal and external courses and the support of our senior team and our practice development nurses. We hold in house training and actively engage with the multidisciplinary team to aid in teaching.

• Assess patient care needs and the development and implementation of programmesof patient care and participate in the evaluation of these.
• To ensure a high standard of nursing care is performed at all times and assist in the review and regular update of these standards.

• To manage the maintenance of an acceptable environment for patients, reportingand taking appropriate action on hazards and faulty equipment.

The post holder will provide a high standard of nursing care by assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating patient care. To work closely with the department / ward manager and multi-disciplinary team members in monitoring and maintaining policies, standards of nursing care, staff and service development within the department / ward environment.

To carry out all relevant forms of care under supervision and when proficient demonstrate procedures of care supervise junior qualified and / or unqualified staff including student nurses whilst maintaining a safe working environment.
