To communicate with other healthcare professionals, in both our trust and external ones, in a professional manner to work together

To line manage and support the development and training of members of the team by completing regular appraisals and setting achievable targets.

You must be able to carry out accuracy checking of prescriptions which are sent to both internal and external wards following our labelling guidelines and SOPs.

To carry out controlled drug audits, destructions and detailed investigations where appropriate.

To partake in mandatory e-learning necessary for the role.

This post provides a unique opportunity to join the pharmacy team at the Royal Devon University Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust and provide patient centred care and help manage the supply of medication safely and efficiently to patients through our dispensary, following pharmacy standards set out by the GPHC.

The post holder will be embedded into our multi skilled dispensary team, and will become line manager to a number of colleagues within this team. You will support the dispensary manager in the manner of being a deputy manager, completing appraisals, organising work flows, rotas and the general running of our busy dispensary.

As a key member of the Trust, youll be joining an exceptional team working together to help our patients when they need it most.

The postholder will be a key member of the pharmacy team providing supervision and development of colleagues and maintaining our core services.

You must be highly self-motivated, able to demonstrate leadership skills and have the ability to plan and work, both independently and as part of the wider healthcare team, to deliver excellent pharmaceutical care to our patients.

Working Pattern: 37.5 per week. Requirement to participate in 7 day working to include late duties, bank holidays and weekend working.

Pay: The salary advertised for this position reflects the Agenda for Change 2024-5 rates, inclusive of a 5.5% pay award implemented from October 2024. If you join before this date, the pay award will be backdated to April 2024 or your start date, whichever is later. Until then, remuneration will be based on the 2023-4 pay bandings (Pay scales for 2023/24 | NHS Employers).
