An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Highly Specialist Paediatric Dietitian to join the Dietetic Team at Barking, Havering and Redbridge University Hospitals Trust (BHRUT) to work alongside another part time band 7 paediatric dietitian for 15hrs per week.

Linking closely with the wider Paediatric Multidisciplinary Teams, with support from 1.5 WTE band 6'S and 1 WTE band 5, the successful candidate will cover in-patient work in NICU and the paediatric ward, as well as a weekly out-patient clinic. The post holder will share the supervision of the band 6 Paediatric Dietitians. We are a progressive, forward-thinking Trust and you will be expected to take an active role in the training of dietetic, medical and nursing staff, service development and service improvement including audit.

This is a post for an ambitious, innovative and motivated team player with excellent communication skills, who is also able to work independently.

Essential Criteria:

Degree/Diploma in Nutrition and Dietetics

HCPC registration

Three years post graduate experience with at least one year as a band 6 Paediatric Dietitian

Relevant post -graduate study

Main duties of the job

? To work as a member of the Dietetic department, providing highly specialist advice, education and support to patients, carers and other health professionals within paediatrics at Barking, Havering and Redbridge University Trust (BHRUT)

? To be responsible for providing specialist nutritional care, including assessment, dietary therapy and monitoring to neonates and paediatric patients and their carers.

? To act as an expert resource on paediatric nutrition and educate and train dietetic students and other health care professionals across the organisation.

? To be actively involved in the organisations clinical governance activities and take a lead responsibility for ensuring continuing professional development, audit, research and service development activities within own specialist area.

? To deputise in the absence of senior colleagues as required
