An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Higher Assistant Psychologist to join our multi-disciplinary Learning Disability CAMHS Team in Teesside.
The successful candidate will be highly motivated to support young people and have an ability to be flexible and adaptive when responding to demands of the service and our young people.
The successful applicant will have a first class or upper second-class degree in psychology, and previous experience of working as an Assistant Psychologist. Some previous experience of working in learning disability services and/or with children, young people, and families would be beneficial.
The post requires travel to various locations within the Trust. We are looking for an enthusiastic team working and communication skills.
Main duties of the job
The Higher Assistant Psychologist will be an integral part of the team and the role is primarily a clinical role, although there will also be an expectation that the post holder has an active role in audit and service evaluation. The Higher Assistant Psychologist will also be involved in training and supporting the team in the use of routine outcome measures.
The Higher Assistant Psychologist will be directly involved in assessment and intervention with young people and families, including individual sessions with young people under supervision. The post will offer a breadth of clinical experience, and opportunities to be involved in ongoing service development. The post holder will work under the supervision of the Consultant Clinical Psychologist, and there is a high level of additional support and supervision embedded into the team's way of working.
