The Whole Family Service (WFT and WFT with Perinatal Specialism) are co-located with Local Authority Camden MASH / Child In Need / Early Help / SEN and Children's Centres. These staff work with families where a high level of integration is needed between CAMHS and other agencies. Many of these families are subject to Child Protection Plans or are within the Public Law Outline.

This Consultant post within Whole Family Service (WFS) is aimed at optimising the assessments and interventions offered to families about whom child welfare concerns have been raised and who receive active safeguarding input from Social Services. The team receives referrals from social care, regarding children who are at risk of harm. The children frequently have parents who have mental health difficulties, but who may not have severe and enduring mental health problems which reach threshold for a mental health service or may not engage with adult mental health services. There is the potential to offer treatment within child centred timescales

This post is aimed at improving the quality of assessment, and access to treatment, of parents of these children. The work will take place as part of a child centred team made up of MDT staff and also Social Workers employed by Camden Local Authority.

A significant proportion of the families will be subject to Care Proceedings or Public Law Outline procedures, so high quality, well written professional reports are required to inform the proceedings.
