This role is an exciting opportunity to join the wider Neurovascular specialist nursing team as a Band 7 Clinical Nurse Specialist working with children and young people with Neurovascular conditions.
The post holder will work primarily with patients and their families, to provide a high standard of timely, evidence-based care, by supporting the families and continually seeking to develop the service.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will:
- Lead service delivery through the North West by managing and planning all aspects of the Neurovascular service for the Trust.
- Organise and lead multidisciplinary meetings.
- Providing counselling and support to families of neurovascular patients working within legal frameworks.
- Prepare and deliver nurse-led clinics for patients with neurovascular conditions, including review of routine prescriptions, blood and scan requests and therapy plans, supported where possible by Non-Medical Prescribing.
-Provide education to patients and families regarding health promotion, treatment compliance and medication reviews.
- Lead on transitioning patients to adult services
- Act as a specialist resource providing advice for junior medical staff and GPs, nursing staff within and external to the Trust.
- Participate in the Neurovascular Specialist Nurse rota to provide support to the rehabilitation service.
