This is an exciting opportunity for a registered pharmacy technician to join the dynamic, innovative and friendly team at Central Middlesex Hospital. The current rotations are:- Patient services, In Patients & Out Patients- Medicines Management- Stores, Distribution and OmnicellThe post-holder will be expected to contribute to the development of the rotations in future.You will be a technician registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council and you must be an enthusiastic, motivated and a patient orientated technician dedicated to teamwork and personal development.The post holder will be required to participate in the weekend working and late duties as per rota.
Main duties of the job
Participate in a recognised medicines management course (such as the Certificate in Medicines Management (CMMPT) or the Medicines Optimisation Programme) providing the knowledge and understanding of the clinical pharmacy.Provide a high quality pharmaceutical service for inpatients and carry out ward based activities in a timely manner and that patients adhere to their treatment plan, handing over complex information clearly to the appropriate people using verbal or written skills.Lead and supervise other staff as requested by the senior technician patient services, including production of weekly rotas and workload organization.Supports managing of homecare medicines management services for thehomecare specialist area.Ensuring that requests for new medicines are processed according to medicines management policies and that goods are ordered, stored and distributed according to defined procedures as per best practice and RPS guidance, and that these are regularly reviewed and managed effectively.Provide a high quality pharmaceutical service for inpatients and carry out ward based activities in a timely manner and that patients adhere to their treatment plan, handing over complex information clearly to the appropriate people using verbal or written skills.

- NVQ level 3 and/or BTEC or equivalent in pharmaceutical science
- Member of the General Pharmaceutical Council
- Accredited checking pharmacy technician

- Hospital Pharmacy Experience
- Good interpersonal skills. Confident and assertive when working with other professionals with the ability to work quickly, calmly and accurately under pressure.
- Portfolio demonstrating competency of previous and current pharmacy practice skills, knowledge and evidence of CPD
