An exciting opportunity has arisen for a full time Community Learning Disability Nurse to work within the ICAT Team based at Lindsay Close, Mansfield.

This is a band 5 -6 progression opportunity but also band 6 applications are also welcomed.

ICATT provides a rapid, short term assessment and treatment service for people with a learning disability who challenge services and may have additional mental health needs. The ICAT Team seek to provide an alternative to hospital admission where it is appropriate to do so, enabling service users with a to receive treatment and care within their own homes, remain involved in their care as part of their own community, therefore minimising the disruption of their lives and the lives of those caring for them.

Main duties of the job

You will be expected to work in a variety of bases and settings and meet the needs of individuals living within the localities

You will be highly motivated team player able to demonstrate a high level of professional competence. You will be expected to also work autonomously and be responsible for your own caseload. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are essential. The post requires close work with patients, carers, external agencies and other health and social care professionals. As part of a team you will be expected to contribute to the risk management plans.

You must have the ability to analyse and assist in making decisions regarding client risk and support in complex cases.

You must have the ability to lone work in the community and manage your own workload and personal time management.

IT skills are essential as you will be expected to keep an electronic diary and enter information on an electronic clinical data base.

Job responsibilities

You must be a Learning Disability Nurse registered with the NMC and have knowledge of working with people with learning disabilities, mental health and challenging behaviour.

Staff are expected to provide an enthusiastic and dedicated flexible service over a seven day period on a rota basis, including weekends, bank holidays and outside of regular office hours, with some lone working. You will receive support and supervision from senior members of the team on a regular basis and work with an allocated caseload.

A full UK driving licence and vehicle for business use is required for this post however reasonable adjustments will be made for disabled individuals in line with the Equality Act 2010.

• Professional Qualification (Mental Health/Learning Disabilities/General) to degree level of equivalent
