An exciting opportunity as arisen for a dynamic individual with a passion to take there career further as a the lead nurse for a busy Orthopaedic trauma ward. You will be providing effective leadership, advice, support and guidance to your team ensuring safe, effective and efficient management of the ward.
You will have the opportunity to lead a team whilst working closely with Orthopaedic and Orthogeriatric Consultants, Advanced clinical practitioners and Allied health professionals who are all based within the orthopaedic trauma ward and work closely together to deliver best outcomes for patients.
As the Lead Nurse you will be responsible for supporting your Manager in ensuring that our service users needs are met through the delivery of high-quality care.
The interview date for this role is 16th October 2024.
Main duties of the job
The Lead nurse will work in close Liaison with the Matron to consistently ensure the quality of patient care through efficiently and effectively managing the ward. The post holder will have 24hour responsibility for their ward including delegated management of identified staff & financial resources.
You will have responsibility for the assessment of care needs, the development, implementation and evaluation of programmes of care including the neck of femur pathway and best Practice tariff. You will be setting the standards for clinical, professional and managerial standards of care.
A professional approach to work & act in accordance with the leadership behaviours agreed for the Trust and the NMC Code of Professional Conduct at all times. Seeking to promote and strengthen leadership skills within staff in the clinical area.
You will be responsible for staff wellbeing, sickness management and recruitment. A positive approach will be required towards driving a team forward to ensure high standards of patients care will always be achieved.
