Walnut is a busy SCU which is currently business planning to become a LNU. We have twenty two cots, three of which are currently designated as high dependency. Our birth rate is rising, with around 5000 deliveries a year.
The successful candidate will need to have:
Ist level registration with the NMC as a Registered Nurse, or Children's Nurse
Neonatal QIS
Mentorship qualification
Substantial post registration neonatal experience in an acute hospital setting
Main duties of the job
The post holder carries continuing responsibility throughout the 24-hour period for the evidence based assessment of care needs, the development of programmes of care and the setting of standards of care on Walnut Ward (SCBU).
They also have continuing responsibility for the management of the ward as a total resource, including deployment, teaching and supervision of staff
