A fixed term band 6 Respiratory Physiologist position has arisen in Respiratory and Sleep Physiology at UHDB. With the potential for permanent employment in the future.

This role involves performing and reporting full lung function tests, limited sleep study analysis and CPAP initiation and follow up. As well as overseeing more junior staff in both respiratory and sleep investigations.

Part of the role is to ensure the smooth running of Respiratory Diagnostic services at Queens Hospital Burton, and in the community at the newly developed CDC based at Sir Robert Peel Hospital.

Main duties of the job

We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join the Respiratory Physiology and sleep team. We have a great team, therefore experience of teamwork is essential to ensure the smooth running of services within respiratory and sleep physiology.

Ideally you must have a BSc Hons Degree in Respiratory Physiology or equivalent qualifications and experience. Applicants should also have the ARTP Practitioners qualification, or be working towards this.

You must be able to carry out the range of investigations and treatments in the job role competently and be able to work independently. This includes lung function testing, sleep diagnostics and treatments.

In collaboration with the other physiologists working at Burton, you will contribute to the smooth day to day running of services at QHB by reporting to the managerial lead on a regular basis.

The job will be based at Queens hospital site with rotation across community hubs and other UHDB sites.

The ability to travel between sites to be able to provide cover for Community diagnostics at Tamworth and Lichfield would be essential.
