The Lane Fox Respiratory Service is offering an exciting opportunity for a Band 7 clinical Nurse Specialist working across out-patient aspects of the service.
The main role will be based at St Thomas Hospital but with clinical work at the Lane Fox Remeo Unit (based at the East Surrey Hospital site)
Main duties of the job
This role will primarily support the out-patient setup service and Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy clinic.
The post holder will be expected to be autonomous in their clinical practice and work with the home ventilation team and MND specialistphysiotherapist to provide support for the rapid access clinic and tracheostomy tube changes during periods of leave.
The post holder will be expected to work across all sites for the service. The main role will be based at St Thomas Hospital but with clinical work atthe Lane Fox Remeo Unit (based at the East Surrey Hospital site).

Theservice is at the forefront of clinical and academic excellence and will expect the appointed individual to work within the existing academicstructure to deliver clinically relevant research.

In partnership with members of the multidisciplinary nursing team the post holder will develop, implement and evaluate a seamless specialistservice, ensuring that patients receive the highest standard of clinical care.
They will act as a lead specialist and will demonstrate a high level ofexpertise within the specialist service, providing specialist advice, education and support to health care professionals and patients. The postholder will actively undertake clinical audits and research within the specialist area.
The post holder will be responsible for contributing to the ongoing development of clinical practice, research and standards of care within theservice, including development of policies, protocols and guidelines and contribute to service developments in collaboration with multidisciplinarycolleagues. Also ensures the safety and well being of services users, and always working in a manner that promotes dignity and human rightsthrough the adoption of person centered care principles.
