South West Yorkshire Partnership Foundation Trust are recruiting for a Consultant Psychiatrist to join the Child and Adolescent mental health team based at Cullingworth Street, Dewsbury, WF13 4AN .

This role plays a vital part in ensuring our patients receive the care that they need and will be an integral role within the CAMHS SERVICE.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and dynamic Consultant Psychiatrist who is passionate about providing timely services in outpatient setting and ensuring safe and effective interventions are delivered to our vulnerable population. The CAMHS outpatient team comprises of neurodevelopmental, learning disabilities , crisis, eating disorders pathways and core CAMHS comprising of multidiscipline with good skill set . The Consultant will work with all the disciplines of the team, and with external agencies within the child's network, to provide assessments, consultation, advice, and support to ensure the best possible clinical outcomes for young people presenting to our service .

The post holder will be offered an additional PAs for leadership and caseload management. There will also be opportunities to work flexibly and virtually dependant on clinical needs.

Academic Skills & Lifelong Learning

Essential

  • Able to deliver undergraduate or postgraduate teaching and training.
  • Ability to work in and lead team.

  • Participated in research or service evaluation.
  • Able to use and appraise clinical evidence.

  • Holds and will use valid UK driving licence OR provides evidence of proposed alternative.


Experience

Essential

  • Fully registered with the GMC with a licence to practise at the time of appointment.
  • Included on the GMC Specialist Register for Child and Adolescent Psychiatry OR within six months of gaining CCT.
  • Approved clinician status OR able to achieve within three months of appointment.
  • Approved under S12 OR able to achieve within three months of appointment.


Desirable

  • In good standing with GMC with respect to warning and conditions on practice
  • All employees of the Trust are strongly encouraged to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 to protect patients.


Qualifications

Essential

  • MB BS or equivalent medical qualification.


Desirable

  • Qualification or higher degree in medical education, clinical research or management.
  • MRCPsych.
  • Additional clinical qualifications.

Essential

  • Excellent knowledge in specialty.
  • Excellent clinical skills using bio-psycho-social perspective and wide medical knowledge.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English.
  • Able to manage clinical complexity and uncertainty.
  • Makes decisions based on evidence and experience including the contribution of others.
  • Able to meet duties under MHA and MCA.
  • Able to provide clinical leadership to a multi-professional team and liaise with a wide variety of agencies.


Desirable

  • Wide range of specialist and sub-specialist experience relevant to post within NHS or comparable service.
