Senior Peer Support Worker - Band 5
Full time, part time hours / permanent role
A wonderful opportunity has arisen within Coventry and Warwickshire Partnership NHS Trust for a senior peer support worker to help develop our lived experienced workforce further.
By using your own lived experience of recovery and experience as a peer support worker you will go on to supervise, train and recruit more peer support workers for our front-line services.
The ideal candidate will have a good level of experience as a PSW, evidencing peer support values and principles in daily practice, be PSW trained and have or be willing to receive further PSW supervisor training.
This post holder can be full time or part time but willing to support people over the whole service area across Coventry and Warwickshire.

As part of this role you will support the development, recruitment, training and supervision of our Peer support worker workforce.

Person Specification Qualifications Essential
- Relevant level 3 qualification in Health and Social care and/or relevant experience
- Peer support worker training
- Care Certificate
- PRW Supervisor Training or willingness to complete
- Health/safety and risk awareness
- Lived experience of receiving a secondary mental health services, and be able to reflect on the personal experience of recovery
- Experience of working with individuals with multiple and complex needs in a PSW role
- Experience of using knowledge, skills and experience to provide a programme of activity to engage and support people accessing services to participate in activity.
- Training experience and experience sharing self to support others in a training environment
- Ability to challenge stigma, prejudice, and discrimination and support others to do the same
- Ability to co-design Recovery Courses for groups and individuals drawing on your own lived mental health experience
- Ability to make clear, logical, persuasive and considered arguments
- Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office, especially PowerPoint
