This is an exciting opportunity to support transformational change, quality improvements and patient experience for people receiving spinal cord injury care within the newly-established South West Spinal Cord Injury network.

We are looking for an experienced nurse or therapist (OT or Physiotherapist) to provide high-quality, patient-oriented care for patients diagnosed with spinal cord injury (SCI) and drive improvements, as part of a new integrated model of care in the South West

Based in Salisbury, you will need tospend some of your time travelling to various locations and settings within Hampshire, Dorset and South Wiltshire where SCI patients are living/being cared for. There will also be some scope for remote working where appropriate.

Main duties of the job

You will need to use a high level of clinical expertise in Spinal Cord Injury to provide support, education and training for medical, nursing and therapists' teams and other healthcare professionals involved in the direct patient care of people with a spinal cord injury, in any setting.

Working as part of the wider South West SCI Clinical Network, providing services across the catchment area of Salisbury Spinal Cord Injury Centre you will be a champion for SCI patients, ensuring that they and their families are supported and their voices heard.

  • Registered with NMC or HCPC as appropriate

Experience

  • Minimum 5 years experience of working with Spinal Cord injury patients


Desirable

  • Extensive experience of working with SCI patients, in a variety of different settings.
  • Experience of service development


Knowledge and Skills

Essential

  • Advanced range of clinical knowledge and skills involving patients with SCI and disability management
  • Ability to understand and act on complex pieces of information
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills with meticulous attention to detail
  • Skills/experience in teaching and supporting health professionals


Desirable

  • Advanced knowledge of risk management
  • Audit/research skills and ability to undertake audit and research
