An exciting opportunity has become available to join a unique team that delivers Podiatric services in to the community, for CLCH.
To work as a highly specialised practitioner as part of a motivated service, working independently or as part of the multidisciplinary Podiatric Surgery team, in secondary and community settings. You will ensure appropriate pathways, are delivered and operated whilst providing high-quality clinical care. This will encompass the skills of assessment, examination, diagnosis and treatment within an agreed scope of practice throughout the Podiatric Surgery - Inner Northwest Division, CLCH.
The post holder will ensure appropriate and effective use of clinical time and resources to contribute to the elective foot surgery pathway. The post holder will be working across integrated pathways, avoiding any delays in care, improving patient accessibility and outcomes this will also involve contributing to coordinated musculoskeletal education to support these aims.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will need to be proactive in delivering ultrasound assessment and diagnosis, ultrasound-guided injections, shockwave therapy and non-medical prescribing across the pathways to support patient needs post-surgically reducing delays in timeous patient care.
There will be an expectation to assist the Podiatric Surgery team, Clinical Business Manager, with quality initiatives and improving service delivery as an integral part of the leadership team.
The post holder will need to be adaptable to the needs of the service and will be expected to keep up to date with clinical and professional developments, portfolio maintenance and should also take part in research and audit projects.

Essential
- Podiatric professional qualifications BSc (Hons) Podiatry
- Membership of the Royal College Of Podiatry (RCoP)
- Membership of the Health Care Professional Council (HCPC)
- POM-A
- Extensive experience working in a Podiatric MSK or surgery team
- Musculoskeletal Ultrasound PgCert (Consortium for the Accreditation of Sonographic Education (CASE))
- Formal training in the use of Shockwave therapy
- IRMER Certificate
Desirable
- MSc Podiatric Studies
- Working towards or holding a higher qualification in Podiatric Medicine
- Non-medical Independent Prescribing (NMIP)
Experience
Essential
- Working within a Podiatric biomechanical team
- Managing complex podiatric foot and ankle conditions
- Ordering of investigations to include X-ray and ultrasound scans
- Ability to work effectively in a team
- Ability to involve patients, relatives/carers in providing reassurance and support to assist their understanding and cooperation
- Collect, collate and report information, maintaining accurate patient records/documentation.
- Able to prioritise own workload delegate appropriately and manage time effectively
Desirable
- Podiatric surgical procedure knowledge
- Experience in high-risk foot conservative and surgical management
- Experience in the work-up of medically compromised patients including arranging hematological tests, histopathology, microbiology and all elements of radiography
- Ability to deal effectively with unpredictable situations e.g. responding appropriately to emergencies or deterioration in patient's condition during/after surgery.
- Previous experience working in a podiatric surgery team
- oPrevious experience in Clinical IT systems as e-Procurement, SOLO/RIO/SYSTEM One/Cerner
