Do you have what it takes to join an expanding dynamic team and provide specialist radiographer skills in a Paediatric Cardiac Angiography and Interventional Radiology environment? Then this role could be for you!

The role will entail, but is not limited to: Congenital Cardiac Intervention, Cardiac Devices, Diagnostic Cardiac Catheter, Cardiac 3D rotational Angiograms, Neuro Intervention, Abdominal, Renal and Peripheral Angiography, Vascular Access, Sclerotherapy, Cryotherapy, Cone Beam CT, 3D Rotational Angiography and iGuide CBCT Biopsies. The role will include mentoring and training junior staff in all procedures, formulating and implementing Quality Improvement Projects, carrying out Audits and deputising for the Superintendent Radiographer.

You will be joining an existing team of Radiographers including the Superintendent Radiographer, Clinical Specialist Radiographers, Static Radiographers and Band 6 Rotational Radiographers. You will work between Interventional Radiology and Cardiac Angiography and will have experience in at least one of the above modalities. You will be working closely with other members of the multidisciplinary team in providing this service. Good communication skills and excellent team working abilities are essential for this post.

Main duties of the job

  • To assist the Superintendent Radiographer in the day to-day running of the Interventional Radiology and Cardiac Angiography department
  • To maintain a high standard of patient care
  • To ensure compliance with WHO surgical checklist.
  • To be accountable for own professional standards by being responsible for maintaining a high standard of imaging and patient care at all times
  • To carry out all radiographic examinations as per departmental protocol set out within the Ionisation Radiation Medical Exposure Regulations 2017 guidelines and Ionising Radiation Regulations 2017
  • To communicate effectively, ensuring all rotational radiographic staff are updated on changes made to the imaging protocols
  • To promote good working relationships with the clinical teams and ward staff to ensure patients are appropriately prepared and seen on time
  • To train and supervise radiographers in line with the training program, ensuring competency goals are met
  • To undertake imaging research and other research projects as directed by the Consultants and superintendent Radiographer.

  • Signification post qualification experience
  • Experience in Cardiac Angiography or Interventional Radiology
  • Experience working with Siemens Artis and/or Toshiba Infinix x-ray systems
  • Knowledge and awareness of ? Quality assurance, ? Data Protection Act. ? IRMER 17 IRR 17 ? Clinical Governance
  • Working knowledge of PACS and RIS Systems


Desirable

  • Specialist knowledge and experience of Paediatric Imaging
  • Experience in Cardiac Rotational Angiography
