Are you a Student Diagnostic Radiographer who is due to qualify in 2025 or a qualified Radiographer looking for a new challenge?

We're offering fantastic opportunities for qualified Radiographers looking for a new challenge or final year Student Radiographers to secure a permanent Band 5 post in the Imaging Directorate at the University Hospitals of North Midlands (UHNM) on the General Modality Team.

As a member of the General Modality Team you will be joining a team of approximately 250 Band 5/6 Radiographers, Assistant Practitioners, and Imaging Department Assistants working at the Royal Stoke, County and Community sites. The team are friendly and welcoming to those that are new to the area and have a great social network.

We have 17 x-ray rooms predominantly DR with an equipment replacement programme in place to move to being fully DR. Additionally we have 12 Image Intensifiers to support the busy workload in the operating theatres across all sites. Depending on your chosen site, you will rotate through all General Modality areas including in-patients, out-patients, MSK, theatres, mobiles, fluoroscopy. You will participate in the Red Dot system, and you could be contributing to a 24/7 roster with enhancements for duties worked out of hours that boost your salary.

Main duties of the job

All successful applicants will have access to bespoke support from one of our qualified and experienced Radiographers who will be a dedicated mentor and will support your transition from student to qualified practitioner or help you settle into a new role as a qualified Radiographer, including an in-depth induction to working at the Trust followed by a dedicated in-depth preceptorship program at the Royal Stoke site.

As a newly qualified Radiographer, our Band 5 role will offer you the chance to consolidate your knowledge and skills whilst gaining extensive experience within our large Imaging Department.

Successful applicants will have a choice of site, which will be discussed at Interview.

Royal Stoke site- 24/7 service covering a range of patients and Plain Film areas, including Major Trauma, Theatre, Inpatient and Outpatient imaging.

County site- Emergency, Inpatient and Outpatient imaging, with out of hours.

Community Minor injuries and outpatient imaging.

If the Community site is of interest this will be a rotational post between Community and Royal Stoke site. Full job descriptions and personal specifications for each site are attached. Full time and part time applications will be considered.
