This is an exciting opportunity for a suitably qualified clinician who shares our Trust's values, to join an enthusiastic cardiology team to develop the provision of general cardiology and electrophysiology clinics, cardiology in-reach and pacing services at Kingston Hospital.
Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will support the cardiac pacing service at Kingston. Kingston Hospital's long-term aspiration is to provide complex pacing on site. The post will also involve providing arrhythmia and general cardiology clinics at Kingston Hospital, providing cover for inpatient care on the cardiology ward and cardiology in-reach services. It is also proposed that the successful applicant will participate in plans to deliver a future seven-day cardiology service at Kingston Hospital.
Your core skills will include a background in general cardiology with subspeciality qualification in cardiac electrophysiology, brady-pacing and the implantation and management of complex devices.
You will join an existing team of six consultant cardiologists at Kingston Hospital
About us
The Cardiology department has expanded rapidly in recent years and the Trust now provides a wide range of diagnostic and therapeutic inpatient and outpatient cardiology services. The new post has been created in response to increased demands for high quality cardiology care to be delivered locally.
It is envisaged that the successful applicant will support the provision of inpatient acute cardiology care at Kingston, support the cardiac pacing service and work with our tertiary centre partner to deliver timely advanced cardiac rhythm management for local patients.
Candidates must be on the GMC Specialist Register and hold a certificate of completion of training in Cardiology or be within six months of their CCT date at the date of interview.
If you would like further information, please contact Dr Simon Pearse, Consultant Cardiologist and Clinical Lead, Kingston Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.
