An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dedicated, highly experienced and passionate Physiotherapist to clinically lead the Prehabilitation and Surgical Team at London North West University Healthcare NHS Trust, working alongside the Clinical Specialist Physiotherapist. The post offers a variety of opportunities to participate in our exciting improvement plans and regular team trainings with the wider Respiratory team.
We are looking for an innovative, patient focused therapist with a passion for the management of patients with complex cancer, complex surgeries and providing highly skilled care to the Surgical wards. You will have a wide range of clinical experience and the leadership qualities needed to inspire and support a team of physiotherapists/ occupational therapists and an integrated therapy assistant to consistently deliver safe, personal and effective care to our patients.

Main duties of the job
To work as a member of the Pre-habilitation multidisciplinary team (MDT), attending the ward and wider MDTs, and attending pre-habilitation clinics.
To lead the prehabilitation service at Central Middlesex Hospital and be the clinical lead for the colorectal surgical physiotherapy service including for patients on the Enhanced Care Unit.
To assess and treat patients requiring physical rehabilitation both before and after complex surgeries and maintaining accurate and comprehensive patient records as per protocol for the Pre -Rehabilitation role.
To provide regular telephone follow-ups as deemed appropriate, as part of the prehabilitation service.

- oMinimum of 4 years relevant clinical experience
- o2 years of experience at Band 6 level in respiratory, covering colorectal surgery, chronic disease management and ITU.
- oSupervision of junior physiotherapy staff.
- oExperience of teaching students and peers.
- oExperience of audit / research process
Desirable
- oPrevious prehabilitation experience
- oPrevious experience at Band 7 level.
- oPrevious management of patients following colorectal surgery
