You will provide specialist clinical care, support and advice for patients requiring both enteral and parenteral nutrition support advanced knowledge and skills on feeding device insertion techniques and methods of administration, to include liaising with and referring on to other healthcare professionals as required as well as being a resource to all disciplines on matters pertaining to nutrition, this includes activities such as clinical triage of PEG referrals, audit, training and education, quality and risk management.

Main duties of the job

1. Establish and maintain effective communication with patient/carers and families about complex matters providing a warm welcoming and enabling environment to support therapeutic relationships2. Develop specialist knowledge, in area of practise, underpinned by theory3. Assess, plan, implement and evaluate the effectiveness of nursing care and adjust the programmes of care where indicated along with maintaining the health, safety and security of self and others in own work area4. This vacancy is open to those who have a current NMC PIN to practice as a Registered Nurse or Midwife in the UK, or those who are currently enrolled on a course which means they expect to receive their full NMC Pin within the next 2-3 months. Please note an NMC PRN Pin is not a full NMC Pin and would not fulfil the essential criteria for this role.

The NCA can no longer accept applications from International Nurses and Midwives who are yet to complete all competencies needed to receivea full NMC PIN to practice in the UK as we have paused our OSCE programme indefinitely.
