Project Specialist Biomedical Scientist - Pathology LIMS Replacement (Fixed Term to April 2025)

An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Pathology & Transfusion Services at the Great Western Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust for an experienced Biomedical Scientist to join us on a fixed term contract.

Are you an experienced Biomedical Scientist registered with the HCPC, with good IT skills looking for a fantastic temporary opportunity to support the harmonisation, testing and go live of the S4PP joint LIMS?

This post of Project Specialist BMS was created as part of our LIMS Business Case with a significant role in a complex clinical IT project. We have a lot do before the phased go live from late 2024 into early 2025 and your roles will be crucial to our success.

Main duties of the job

You must have a keen eye for detail throughout to support our LIMS replacement project which will also include interfaces to existing systems such as ICE Order Comms, PathManager Business Reporting, MSOFT Blood360, Sample 360 and Careflow EPR.

You will support the harmonisation, testing and go live of the S4PP joint LIMS. Your skills and hard work will ensure a high quality system that is fit for purpose, safe and effective by undertaking relevant work for full end to end and user acceptance testing. This will include the testing and go live of relevant software updates including interfaces to analysers and equipment such as Point of Care devices. You will primarily support the Blood Sciences build within the LIMS but you will also be expected to support the wider project so some pan-pathology experience would be an advantage

As part of the South 4 Pathology Partnership (S4PP) we have recently awarded a 10 year contract for a shared Pathology Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) Winpath Enterprise with our IT partner Clinisys.

These values serve as a guiding principle, driving us towards our vision of delivering great joined up services to our local community.
