This is an exciting opportunity for a qualified clinical psychologist to join two teams. The first is a varied and specialist CAMHS service with a number of specialty areas, including paediatric psychology, ADHD and neurodevelopmental assessment, under the supervision of a Clinical Psychologist. The post holder will also provide psychological support to young people and families under the paediatric diabetes team at the Royal Free Hospital.Start date for this role will be from December 2024.
Main duties of the job
This is an exciting opportunity for a qualified clinical psychologist to join two teams. The first is a specialist CAMHS for neurodevelopment assessment/intervention and paediatric psychology. You will contribute to ADHD & ASC assessment and intervention, helping oversee referral pathways and audits and working alongside a band 8a clinical psychologist. This also involves working with children, young people and families living with acute and chronic medical conditions who are seen within paediatrics at the Royal Free Hospital, requiring inpatient and outpatient assessment and intervention as required. You will also supervise an assistant psychologist in terms of family liaison and database maintenance. The other team is the cross-site paediatric diabetes team, providing support for children, young people & families living with Type 1, Type 2, MODY and other forms of diabetes. You will provide support for newly diagnosed, contribute to specialist reviews around Hybrid Closed Loop implementation and provide psychological assessment and intervention around diabetes within a specialist MDT. This means working across sites to develop working relationships with paediatric staff including, paediatricians, clinical nurse specialists and dieticians.
The post holder will need to have an interest in, and some experience in working with children with chronic health problems. The role involves 5 sessions in both services and supervision from senior clinical psychologists.
