We are looking for a values-led, compassionate and capable senior lead with a demonstrable commitment to improving and supporting mental health, learning disabilities and autism services, offering best patient care and enabling staff as well as the ability to deliver high quality, robust programmes, drive delivery and manage relationships at all organisational levels.

Main duties of the job

The postholder will oversee and enable delivery of the team's transformational portfolio, as well as project lead their own complex areas, and provide dedicated work on strategic developments. This involves direct management of project managers who are delivering transformational change projectsfor adults and older adults, and for people with learning disabilities and autism.

This post is a senior lead position in the Jameson Strategy, Transformation and Partnerships team, working across the Jameson Division within Central and North West London NHS Foundation Trust (CNWL) which provides adult mental health and learning disability services across North West London boroughs.

Job responsibilities

This postholder is expected to take a specific leadership focus on the delivery of programmes relating to older adult mental health, learning disability and autism pathways while also working flexibly across other areas as needed in response to transformation priorities. This includes working across internal and external partners as necessary and providing strategic direction, design and delivery & meaningful co-production. The postholder needs to be dedicated to partnership working and appreciate the value community partnerships, including with VCSE, can bring to statutory health and care services.

This means the postholder will need to be able to hold complex programmes, drive delivery at a senior level and delegate work to wider team members to enable successful implementation as required. The post will be expected to show clear leadership, reporting to senior members of the division and the trust on high profile work programmes and work streams.

Qualifications

Essential

  • Degree or equivalent relevant experience
  • Masters or Post Graduate degree in management or equivalent years of demonstrable experience in a relevant programme management role


Desirable

  • Programme Management qualification
  • Training in use of management consultancy techniques/strategic development tools e.g. D-5 methodology


Experience

Essential

  • Relevant experience of working a project environment
  • Relevant NHS experience or similar environment working with senior leads
  • Experience of roles managing and motivating staff
  • Experience of delivering projects within clinical services
  • Experience leading and delivering high profile Mental Health Five Year Forward View/Long Term Plan objectives
  • Experience in development of funding proposals/bid leadership


Desirable

  • Experience working closely with or in the voluntary sector/community social enterprise


Knowledge

Essential

  • Knowledge of programme and project management
  • Outstanding knowledge and understanding of the NHS Long Term Plan, the mental health implementation plan and community mental health framework


Desirable

  • Knowledge of the emerging NHS landscape including Integrated Care Systems and Integrated Care Partnerships
  • Knowledge and understanding of the Mental Health Investment Standard, operational planning and budget management
  • Knowledge and understanding of clinical services

  • Ability to provide and receive highly complex, sensitive or contentious information, and present sensitive information to large groups
  • Experience and knowledge to plan over short term, medium and long term timeframes

  • Ability to build a credible reputation amongst, senior management teams, clinical staff and peers
  • Ability to develop and maintain communication with people about difficult matters and/or in difficult situations, varying language and style as appropriate

  • Excellent excel, data analytics and basic modelling skills
