We currently have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Radiographer to join the team. (Experience in cardiac radiography is not essential). Training is central to the ethos of the Heart Centre, so that all staff, includingradiographic staff, can contribute to the award winning care we provide the patients of Lincolnshire.

The successful candidate will be expected to work closely with other members of the Cardiac and Interventional teams to deliver a high quality of care to all patients.

Main duties of the job

To be competent in all Cardiac Catheterisation and Interventional Radiology procedures as well as other specialised areas of radiography and help deliver an effective radiographic service within those specialised areas of the department.

Support Cardiac Catheterisation on call rota to provide Primary Percutaneous Coronary and Intervention Radiology service.

Job description

Job responsibilities

Provide diagnostic imaging during cardiac procedures. This includes not only the cardiac catheter x-ray machine but also, Intra vascular ultrasound, Optical Coherence Tomography and Laser.

Provide diagnostic imaging during Interventional radiology procedures.

Person Specification

Essential

Essential

  • Current HCPC registration
  • BSC Hon or DCR in Diagnostic Radiography
  • Cardiac Catherisation experience
  • Evidence of short/specialist courses or experience
  • Demonstrable experience in Radiography or equivalent specialist experience


Desirable

  • Evidence of post graduate studies
  • PCI experience
  • IR suite experience
  • Qualified or willing to train to perform intra - venous contrast injections when required


Previous Experience

Essential

  • Diagnostic Cardiac Catheterisation experience
  • Rotational experience through specialist radiography areas.
  • Preceptorship or equivalent experience. Evidence of CPD activity, reflective learning. Supervision of staff, mentoring of students
  • Knowledge and application of HR policies and procedures, such as sickness, discipline Accurate knowledge of departmental imaging guidelines
  • Proven experience as a clinical radiographer


Desirable

  • Cardiac Catheter Laboratory PCI Experience
  • Evidence of successful management of small team
  • Evidence of further education
  • Experience of interventional / angiographic procedures
  • Evidence of dealing with difficult scenarios, conversations
  • Participation in professional lectures, study days and workshops

  • Excellent I.T. skills, word processing, PAS, PACS, digital imaging systems
  • Effective communicator

  • Willingness to work flexibly including unsocial hours, long shifts and On-call participation
  • There will be a requirement to work 7 days.
  • There will be a requirement to potentially work on other sites as and when required


Desirable

  • Full UK driving Licence
  • Previous CR experience
