An excellent opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic specialist to join the Berkshire CAMHS Common Point of Entry Team. (CAMHS CPE)based at London House in Bracknell

You will be an essential part of a larger clinical team. As the front door for CAMHS services in Berkshire we are responsible for the assessment and signposting for support of all appropriate referrals into CAMHS services.

Key responsibilities include advising and consulting with referrers, colleagues, and families regarding symptoms, risk assessment, and referral needs. The individual will work collaboratively with young people and their families to ensure thorough triage and assessment of mental health needs, evaluating risks, and coordinating the collection of relevant information.

This role will also involve supporting assessments and engaging with multiple agencies to assist families in accessing information and resources, including self-help options and appropriate signposting to other services. Additionally, the postholder will help facilitate the administration of referrals to other agencies as necessary, in alignment with senior clinicians.

Short-term interventions, including psychoeducation, multi-agency consultation, and other relevant activities, will be provided to support young people and their families effectively.

Main duties of the job

• To provide support and guidance to parents/carers of children and young people, other Trust staff and relevant external agencies, via telephone face to face or online.

• To provide therapeutic interventions (individual/group) to children, young people and parents/carers.

• To contribute to initial assessments of children and young people referred to the team in conjunction with other qualified members of the team.

• To facilitate and signpost referrals when appropriate to other agencies, in conjunction with allocated Health Care Professional.

• Reviewing the needs of children, young people and families whilst handling sensitive information from a range of situations/life events.

Essential
