This is a secondment post for a Digital Nurse to support an outpatient digitalisation programme of work within Nottingham's Clinical Genetics Service, transferring from paper records and existing SHIRE (access-based) database to an interactive fully digital electronic system. The system will manage appointment, audit and review capability elements as well as incorporating a family pedigree drawing module. The tender process for the system is currently underway.

Nottingham Clinical Genetics Service is in the process of procuring an EPR system to facilitate healthcare records storage, and drive service efficiencies. The EPR will also incorporate in Genomics module which will enable linking of records within families.
The post-holder will be involved in many aspects of the project, from engagement with system provider prior to and following installation taking on superuser role and assisting the provider to map process pathways support training of administrative and clinical colleagues within clinical genetics establishing administrator roles within the team. The post-holder will support the process of transferring archive material to the new system by the administrative team.

Job responsibilities
The post holder will:
- Work closely with the Digital Matron and the Digital Nurse Team to support the implementation of systems across the Trust
- Maintain an in depth knowledge of the clinical system and the understanding of their potential use and end purpose at NUH, including their potential impact on patient care, staff experience and trust performance.
- Work closely with clinical teams across the Trust to ensure programme priorities are understood and reflect the needs of patients, in order to have significant impact on safety, quality, performance, patient and staff experience and staff effectiveness
- Be accountable for motivating teams and colleagues involved in change, particularly working in close liaison with the ICT Applications Team to assist with product design, configuration, testing, training and support during the deployment period.
- Support the design, planning, management and delivery of this project on time and within budget.
- Using appropriate complex data, ensure that changes are evidenced-based and service and healthcare improvements can be quantified and monitored.
- Apply creativity and innovation techniques to the projects including learning from outside our organisation.
