We are seeking an Advanced Physiotherapist with extensive experience of Rehabilitation to join the Buckinghamshire community rehabilitation hospital working on Watersdie and Chartridge ward at BHT

Waterside ward is 21 bedded in-patient rehabilitation unit and Chartridge ward is a 22 bedded ward situated at Amersham Hospital. Patients are admitted with a wide variety of conditions with specific smart goals achievable within 2-3 weeks. The experienced multi-disciplinary team work closely together to provide goal orientated rehabilitation.

The post is 30 hours per week Physiotherapy team lead role.

Service development and supervision are supported by the advanced Physiotherapist in Rehabilitation.

This post involves weekend working and respiratory on calls at the acute sites.

Main duties of the job

To be responsible for leading and developing the Physiotherapy team within Rehabilitation across waterside and Chartridge wards, in regard to all aspects of clinical governance within this specialty.To perform specialised assessment and treatment for patients with highly complex presentations and needs, and to provide expert advice, guidance and information to health and social care professionals, carers, relatives and others.To undertake all aspects of clinical responsibilities as a skilled, autonomous and advanced practitioner.To actively lead development of professional and service initiatives, and contribute to organisational objectives.To supervise, teach and appraise Physiotherapy staff and students within the specialty.

Person Specification

Experience

Essential

  • Minimum of 3-4 years working experience at Band 6 level in the NHS
  • Minimum of 18 months experience in related field at senior level (Rehab, Ortho, community)
  • Minimum of 18 months experience in related field at senior level (Rehab, Ortho, community)
  • Attendance at post graduate courses in related fields
  • Experience in supervision of junior staff
  • Ability to work and interact effectively within an interdisciplinary team
  • Evidence of commitment to continuing professional development, and reflective practice
  • Knowledge and application of evidence-based practice and clinical reasoning
  • Participation in audit and research activities
  • Establish and maintain CPD Portfolio
  • Demonstration of having initiated change of practice or process following identification of clinical or service need


Education, Qualification & Training

Essential

  • Current registration with Health Professions Council
  • Diploma /Degree in Physiotherapy
  • Membership of professional special interest group
  • Field work/clinical educator's course
  • Evidence of CPD in the form of a detailed personal development portfolio


Desirable

  • MCSP Membership
  • Master's degree in related field

  • Clear, concise verbal and written communication to ensure liaison with multi disciplinary team, patients and carers to ensure records and reports are accurate, legal and in legible manner (in English)
