The Maudsley Centre for Child and Adolescent Eating Disorders (MCCAED) have been awarded dedicated funding to develop co-produced community engagement work to seek to redress barriers to accessing treatment by minoritised youth. This role is to lead the project, 'Building Bridges', for an initial 18 months.
We particularly welcome applications from Black and Ethnic Minority candidates as they are currently under-represented within the team at this level.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will work closely with stakeholders across local communities, expert parents and experts by experience to coproduce an approach to liaison that increases the accessibility of MCCAED to local young people and their families.
They will manage an assistant psychologist and support them to liaise with local schools to implement outreach work with young people, staff and parents.
The post holder will deliver this program with the assistant psychologist. They will work with design/animation agencies as appropriate to develop materials for outreach/engagement, dependent on outcomes of coproduction work.
The post holder will deliver the program to groups of young people in secondary schools in the SLaM boroughs

Essential
- Doctorate in Clinical Psychology, or MSc PG Diploma or Doctorate in Counselling Psychology or equivalent nursing or family therapy qualification or Occupational Therapy or social work qualification. (A/I)
- Registration (or eligibility for registration) with the HCPC as Practitioner Psychologist or equivalent professional registration with AFT, UKCP, NMC. (A/I)
Desirable
- Evidence of training in cross-cultural working, EDI, minority stress and/or coproduction.
Experience

- Experience that supports working with, and addressing issues of, diversity within local communities. This may have been gained through work, research, volunteering and / or lived experience. (A/I)
