Are you a motivated and forward-thinking registered Pharmacy Technician looking for a unique opportunity? Then join the ePMA project to support the implementation of the new system.
You will play a key role in developing the pharmacy service and pharmacy workforce in line with our strategic vision to ensure we are able to provide the best care possible to the patients of North West Wales. You will be part of the senior pharmacy management team and will be responsible for reviewing current processes and implementing change where needed, to ensure the smooth running of the pharmacy department.
In this innovative position, you will collaborate with diverse teams on cutting-edge projects involving systems like automated medicine cabinets, centralized temperature monitoring and supporting the implementation of electronic prescribing. The successful candidate will be driven to introduce new technology advancements to optimise pharmacy operations, improve medication safety, and ensure compliance with healthcare regulators.

Main duties of the job
Be responsible for the professional leadership, development and management of pharmacy technicians and support staff within ePMA project. Responsible for stimulating, initiating, and co-ordinating the implementation of audit, practice research and development activity undertaken by pharmacy support staff.3. Lead and assist specific projects and areas of work, developing strategies for service improvement that reflect professional and corporate/IHC objectives in conjunction with the Pharmacist Senior Managers4. Support the Pharmacist Senior Manager Hospital Operations and Chief Pharmacy Technician in delivery of the Health Board agenda within the Health Board (HB).5. Be the technical specialist for the management and operation of various Information and Communication Technology (ICT) systems used throughout pharmacy services.6. Provides education and ensures appropriate staff super-users are in place for all digital systems including robot, careflow, WePMA, ward automation systems and Checkit. Provides support and guidance to local pharmacy super users. Undertakes planning, management and implementation of digital change projects that are associated with the Pharmacy ICT portfolioof systems. Liaising with third party systems suppliers and with local ICT providers.

- Provides leadership that challenges traditional practices and encourages innovative problem solving amongst staff, that focuses on implementation of Health Board wide developments.
- Assists the Pharmacy Management Team to ensure that pharmacy services achieve objectives through strategic planning general management financial management performance management planning, policy and service development, includingmodernisation service quality workforce management and Information Management.
- Responsible for developing and providing ongoing support in the promotion of leadership of and staff engagement within the post holders area of responsibility
- Supports senior pharmacy technicians to provide a streamlined pharmacy service that aligns with the HB vision.
- Leads on the production, implementation and review of Pharmacy & Medicines Management Health Board policies, procedures, and guidance relating to service provision by pharmacy technicians and support staff.
- Line manage the pharmacy technician staff in post holders designated area ensuring they each have a job plan, annual appraisal and personal development plan which is reviewed regularly and in line with divisional objectives.
- Ensures that pharmacy technician and support staff develop to meet the changes brought about by service review, modernisation, and changes to medicines legislation.
- Develops, project manages, prioritises and monitors audits and projects relating to pharmacy services in area of designated responsibility. Disseminates the results appropriately, and ensuring change in practice occurs.
- Promotes and develops medicines management services in the Health Boards local and national projects as necessary
- Ensures the development, provision, management and implementation of appropriate Information Management and Technology systems to collect and analyse data to supportstrategic objectives and Healthcare Standards, ensuring that all data systems comply with Caldicott, Welsh Risk Pool and other governance and statutory requirements.
- Develops and produces regular statistical reports for the IHC to inform pharmacy service planning and decision making, ensuring that this information is accurate, timely, relevant, and user friendly.
- Actively seeks out new technological solutions and systems, or enhancements to current ones that could contribute to improved service efficiency and patient care. Discusses possible solutions with the senior pharmacy team for approval to cope further

- GPhC Registered Pharmacy Technician
- ILM Management qualification level 4 or equivalent level of management experience

- Relevant education to post-graduate diploma or equivalent level of knowledge, training and experience
- Postgraduate level qualification/working towards/equivalent level of knowledge, training and experience in Clinical Informatics/other relevant discipline
