To act as a deputy to the service manager/Deputy Clinical Services Manager in periods of long-term absence.

Manage and supervise staff and students within MRI

Provide professional leadership within the specified area/specialty.

Effective day to day running of both MRI scanners to meet demand and capacity.

Main duties of the job

• Responsible for the organisation, planning, management and the delivery of a comprehensive and effective MRI imaging service, including managing the waiting lists and provide weekly reports/KPI's for review.
• To manage within the MRI service, the staff, their personal development, PDR's and discipline and recording/monitoring of sickness levels.
• To provide professional support for staff and contribute towards the development of plans to improve patient care within current professional and legal standards, national and local policies.
• To constantly monitor the effectiveness of the departmental protocols and procedures and, when necessary, using audit outcomes or research from internal or external sources to initiate new protocols and procedures.
• Responsible for the training and development of radiographers, student radiographers and radiology clinical imaging assistants.
• Regularly provide clinical and technical advice to other clinical staff and less experienced radiographers.
• Conduct a professional manner at all times and show empathy, compassion and dignity towards the service users.
