A unique opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated and enthusiastic Registered Nurse to be part of an exciting new venture at the Surgical Hub at Llandough Hospital. This exciting new unit will provide an excellent facility for both day cases and overnight cases for short stay surgical patients, including but not limited to ENT, gynae and general surgery. The unit will consist of 18-day case trolleys and 15 short stay overnight beds.
The successful candidate will work within a team to deliver the highest standard of pre and post - operative care to patients across a number of specialities. You will need to be dedicated, hard working and flexible to care for patients across a broad spectrum of surgical specialities.
The Surgical Hub will offer a fantastic opportunity to gain insight and exposure to a number of surgical procedures which will further increase your knowledge and skill set within surgery.
Main duties of the job
This unit offers an excellent opportunity to gain a wealth of experience in acute surgical nursing of this complex group of patients. You will be given the opportunity to develop a vast range of surgical nursing skills including the management of wounds, pain and discharge planning. This is a great opportunity to develop your nursing career and build on existing knowledge. You will have a supernumerary period and we have a practice development team that run bespoke study days to support you with your ongoing professional development. You will gain a broad range of surgical skills and will be welcomed into a supportive and friendly environment.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply
