Are you looking for an exciting new challenge working with a dynamic theatre team? If so, Kettering General Hospital NHS Foundation Trust (KGH) is looking for you.

We are looking for an experienced Band 6 RN who has a keen interest and expertise in ENT surgery to join our friendly and dynamic nursing team working at Kettering General Hospital.

You will participate on a 24-hour Rota (day and night duties, weekends, and bank holidays) for the department plus there will also be the expectation that you participate on the ENT on-call Rota.

The post holder will be a clearly identifiable senior clinical staff member and team leader. They will have significant clinical experience, provide sound clinical expertise to their team and coordinate, and deliver high quality care. They will be a role model for expert clinical care and lead on specific projects/management functions as delegated by the Theatre Lead.

Main duties of the job

Job responsibilities

To work proactively to support the Theatre Sister in the delivery of high-quality care and a positive patient experience of patients. Primarily this will be through effective role modelling of professional behaviours and the deployment of practice development and educational methodologies. This is to reassure that all staff are developed and supported to be competent and confident in the role and to always instil professional behaviours.

All duties pertaining to national guidelines of band 6 theatre practitioners relating to theatre duties and team leading and essential skills in ENT Surgery

Qualifications

Essential

  • Educated to Degree level or equivalent level of education, training or experience
  • Registered Nurse
  • Mentorship qualification


Desirable

  • Teaching qualification
  • Master's degree pathway
  • Management/ leadership qualification


Knowledge

Essential

  • Previous relevant ENT Experience
  • Experience of working as part of a team
  • Be able to demonstrate a wider knowledge of the NHS
  • Experience of development and leadership of change in clinical practice


Skills

Essential

  • Demonstrate a high level of personal self-management and organisational skills
  • To demonstrate accuracy and clarity in verbal, written and electronic communication in relation to own work
  • Demonstrates ability to interact with patients and staff in a courteous and sensitive manner, which takes into account their individual needs, in line with the Core Values of the Trust.
