We are delighted to announce an exciting opportunity for a Band 7 Physiotherapist to join our dedicated team on the stroke unit at Kings Mill Hospital, committed to delivering exceptional rehabilitation and care to our patients, from hyper-acute through to rehab and recovery.

The successful candidate will play a pivotal, lead role on the stroke unit, both clinically and operationally.

This position offers the chance to drive innovation and influence change within a dynamic healthcare environment.

Recently we have had investment in our stroke services at Sherwood Forest Hospitals and are expanding our MDT with a commitment to delivering outstanding outcomes for our patients.

Our facility at Kings Mill Hospital provides a superb environment to facilitate this, with a purpose built therapy gym and unit dedicated to stroke.

The successful applicant must be able to demonstrate a passion for stroke rehabilitation with extensive leadership and specialist stroke experience in order to effectively assess and treat this complex client group, from hyper acute through to rehab/recovery.

Person Specification

Qualifications

Essential

  • Degree in Physiotherapy or Occupational Therapy, BSc(Hons) or equivalent
  • HPC State Registration.
  • Membership of a professional special interest group relevant to stroke/neurological rehab
  • Undertaken the clinical student supervisor's course


Knowledge

Essential

  • Extensive range of clinical skills and theoretical knowledge within stroke rehabilitation and applied theraputic techniques
  • Extensive knowledge of evidence-based research that underpins stroke care
  • Ability to teach in a group setting/knowledge and understanding of group dynamics / ability to pass on knowledge to others
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to provide and receive complex and/or sensitive information
  • Competent IT skills
  • Extensive and well evidenced Supervisory and leadership skills
  • Effective and Strong Leadership skills
  • Sound awareness of local regional and national priorities

  • Evidence of continual professional development (CPD) and attendance at postgraduate level courses


Contractual requirements

  • To travel between hospital sites as required
  • Must be able to work flexible hours over a 7 day period
