We at RRRT, are looking for a band 6 occupational therapist to join our integrated service in rapid response, discharge to assess and community rehab. We are a close knit multi -disciplinary team with strong working relationships across the London Borough of Richmond. The team is based in the heart of Teddington with an additional base in Sheen. Main duties of the job

We operate a seven day service between 08.00 -20.00.

Car drivers are desirable but not essential.

Applicants are expected to work as autonomously and as part of the wider MDT.

Main duties may include but are not exhaustive of managing own caseload, liaising with MDT, moving and handling assessments and patient centred goal setting.

You will be working closely with patients, family members, carers and acute/ community partners to deliver individualised treatment programmes.

You will also be facilitating clinical supervision, student development and service improvement initiatives including audits, pathway developments and service promotion.

Person Specification

Qualification

Essential

  • Diploma/Degree in Occupational Therapy
  • HCPC registered


Desirable

  • Membership of relevant Clinical Interest Groups


Experience

Essential

  • Post graduate experience of 2 years min that covers core skills in rehabilitation including therapeutic handling and management of people with complex conditions.
  • Broad experience including orthopaedics, medical, neurology and elderly care
  • Well established knowledge of assessment tools and treatment techniques relevant to this client group
  • Experience of supervision of junior staff, student or rehabilitation assistant


Desirable

  • Involvement in audit, research and understanding quality issues


Skill

Essential

  • To work as an autonomous practitioner and have the ability to organise, prioritise and delegate work


Desirable

  • Understanding of clinical governance and its implications
