An exciting opportunity has arisen for a skilled Senior Test Analyst to join the Digital and Health Informatics (D& HI) department at Cardiff and Vale University Health Board.
This role will support the implementation of an electronic Prescribing and Medicines Administration (ePMA) system, providing an opportunity to play a key role in the biggest digital transformation within the UHB to date. The ePMA system will transform the way clinicians prescribe & administer medication, making it safer & more efficient, impacting all staff groups, specialties and services across the UHB, transforming the way they work.
The successful candidate will join the Digital Service Transformation team. Our focus is on software development, integration, and interoperability. We are looking for an organised, enthusiastic and motivated individual, who can work in a rapidly changing and challenging environment.
The role will have a probationary period of on-site working, usually at our base in Woodland House, moving to hybrid working thereafter.
Main duties of the job
To develop and maintain the project test strategy on projects for which Cardiff and Vale UHB is responsible in accordance with specifications and operational requirements of NHS Wales
To ensure that the application performs to the requirements of its users and clinicians
To provide specialist advice and support on software testing to the NHS in various areas of health informatics
All testing work is undertaken in accordance with the policies, processes and procedures as described by the Cardiff and Vale UHB Test Framework

- Degree in information and IT related subject or equivalent qualifications and experience
Knowledge

- ISTQB Expert in Software Testing or equivalent experience
- Evidence of on-going professional development
- Knowledge and expertise in Software testing methodologies
- Knowledge of load testing/automation to support the delivery of requirements in these areas
- Knowledge of SQL to support defect investigations
- Knowledge in PRINCE2 project management and support development programmes
- Knowledge of the principles of Information Governance, Data Protection, Freedom of Information and best practices in the use of handling confidential information

- Registered with a relevant informatics professional body

- Significant experience in managing software testing in highly complex technology-based products
- Experience of writing and implementing test strategies and plans for complex environments

- Ability to communicate with staff up to a senior level on complex business or clinical processes
- Ability to read and comprehend clinical business requirements and high-level design deliverables to write detailed test cases
- Excellent knowledge of testing processes and an understanding of how this fits within an overall project lifecycle
- Excellent knowledge of defect management and structured approaches to resolution of issues
