An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Dietitian with advanced clinical skills to be part of the established Community Nutrition and Dietetics team in Central Lancashire. This is an exciting dietetic opportunity for anyone passionate about working in the community. We have a large home enteral feeding cohort of patients and the caseload also includes nutrition support patients, weight management and gastroenterology services.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, friendly and confident Dietitian to join the Community Nutrition and Dietetic department with a special interest in HEF. The team covers Greater Preston and Chorley South Ribble area.

You will be part of and supported by a small, very friendly hard working team who are based in central Preston at Minerva Health Centre.

We are more than happy to consider flexible hours to meet your needs and you will have the flexibility to work remotely as well as based at Minerva Health Centre.

The successful candidate will gain invaluable experience in enteral feeding, nutrition support including experience in working with weight management and gastroenterology services.

Main duties of the job

Your role will involve the assessment and implementation of care plans for patients in clinic, in their own homes, in nursing and care homes, possibly at some of the local community hospitals in addition.

You will assist in the training of health care professionals and carers and maintenance of IT systems that support patient care.

You will work as an autonomous advanced practitioner and provide a high standard of assessment, diagnosis, treatment and highly specialist expert advice to patients and carers. You will develop and promote a holistic, supportive and patient centred service.

Education/Qualifications

Essential

  • GCSE or equivalent in Maths and English Degree in Nutrition/Dietetics or equivalent leading to Health Professions Council (HCPC) Registration as a Dietitian Teaching qualification or equivalent/demonstration of teaching/supervision experience Compliance with regulatory bodies and codes of professional conduct Knowledge of current key NHS developments and policies and implications for service delivery
