MREH Theatres are the leading provider of ophthalmic specialist healthcare services in Manchester and treat more than a million patients every year. Our Theatre Department consists of five operating theatres, and six post anaesthetic recovery bays. Within our theatres, we provide highly specialised elective and emergency care to all age groups ranging from neonates to the elderly.

The primary focus of the post is to ensure that all patients and families receive high quality patient centred care, reflecting the Trust objectives, values and vision. The post holder will assess, plan implement and evaluate the care for these patients supporting and guiding junior staff in the process. S/he will provide direct patient care and have detailed clinical knowledge of the specialist area.

The post holder will act as a positive role model within the department for staff patients and carers. The post holder will also provide clinical support and effective clinical leadership within the theatre setting The practitioner will have extensive knowledge of theatre practice and be actively involved in the teaching and assessing of junior staff in line with current National and local standards and best practice.

Main duties of the job

Working as a Registered Paediatric Nurse within Eye Theatres, you'll be providing the highest standards of care and making a difference to the lives of our patients across Manchester and beyond. You'll provide outstanding clinical support and deliver direct care for our patients within your role in MREH theatres.

We also provide cover in Royal Manchester Children's Hospital Theatres for paediatric dental patients.

This will be a fantastic opportunity for you to develop and expand your knowledge and skills in the care of paediatric and adult patients .
