This is your opportunity to join the Lipid CNS nursing team at the University Hospital of Llandough. As a complex, expanding and critical service we are recruiting a band 6 apheresis nurse to join our dynamic team.
Specialist training and support will be given to the successful candidate.
We have a holistic approach to the care of our patients focusing on their individual needs and priorities, with the aim of optimising their health.
Main duties of the job
The successful individual will be part of our apheresis nursing team undertaking apheresis procedures within the Lipid Unit at University Hospital Llandough. The job role will involve working alongside the band 7 Clinical Nurse Specialist, the post holder will be responsible for the delivery of care for patients our cohort of patients in a weekday day care setting.
The apheresis team also have nurse led clinics where patients are assessed and counselled prior to their treatments . The role is varied and involves a number of treatments and apheresis procedures. We are expanding our service and developing links with other areas such as the cardiac and familial hyperlipoidaemia service. Another element of the role involves setting standards of practice and quality and service improvement by auditing practice, presenting data, writing and implementing documents and teaching.
