Corporate Governance Manager
It's an exciting time to join our two organisations, Dorset County Hospital and Dorset HealthCare, as we build on our new joint leadership model to help improve the health and wellbeing of our local communities.
The recently appointed Joint Executive Director of Corporate Affairs is building a single Corporate Affairs team to work across both organisations and is now seeking to appoint a Corporate Governance Manager to lead on the governance agenda for Dorset HealthCare whilst working closely with their counterpart at Dorset County Hospital and leading on some key governance initiatives across both trusts.

Main duties of the job
To provide the full range of advanced professional assistance to the Company Secretary, in support of the administration and implementation of the of the Trust's corporate governance agenda. The post holder will ensure that the Trust Board and its committees operate smoothly and effectively. Together with the Company Secretary they will ensure that all corporate governance activities are undertaken to the highest standards of probity and according to regulatory and legislative requirements.
To prepare, plan, and deliver a broad range of complex activities as required by the Director and Deputy Director of Corporate Affairs. This will involve problem solving, formulating action plans and establishing robust governance and assurance mapping.
This role will actively contribute to establishing and maintaining good corporate governance practice across the Trust to ensure that the Trust complies with the regulatory framework (including legislation, its provider licence and the Trust's constitution) overseen by NHS regulators, including NHS England and the Care Quality Commission. The post holder will work closely with the senior members of the corporate governance team in successfully embedding the Trust's corporate governance framework to support compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements.

- Educated to Degree level or significant equivalent experience.

- Hold or be willing to work towards a graduate-level corporate governance qualification.
Knowledge and Experience

- Recent experience of working in a governance role in complex organisation, preferably in a corporate governance role within the NHS.
- Must be able to provide and receive highly complex, sensitive or contentious information negotiate with senior stakeholders on difficult and controversial issues, and present complex and sensitive information to groups.
- Experience of working with and providing advice within a highly confidential environment, including experience of liaising and operating at Chair, Non-Executive and CEO Level
- Ability to interpret national policy initiatives and identify the relevance to the trust and the governance agenda
