An exciting opportunity has arisen to recruit a Senior Sister/Charge Nurse to manage our new and growing Enhanced Care Team.

The Enhanced Care Healthcare Assistants work across all of the inpatient medical wards providing care to patients who require close supervision. The team primarily care for patients living with dementia, delirium, mental health illnesses or a learning disability.

Main duties of the job

You will need good leadership and clinical judgement skills, as well as being an excellent communicator,motivator and team player. We are looking for a leader who is accountable and visible and who will work alongside the medical wards to maintain a culture that supports our trust values.

You will need to expect and maintain high standards of care, quality and patient safety to ensure best outcomes for patients. The post may require you to be involved with complex discharge planning and best interest meetings for patients.

The individual must be able to work effectively and it is essential to have the ability for problem solving while working under pressure. You will be involved in supporting your team with debriefing sessions.

Experience

  • Qualified for 5 years
  • Significant years of experience at Band 6 in an acute setting
  • Knowledge of HR and roster management

  • RGN
  • Recognised teaching and assessing certificate
  • Evidence of continuous professional development

  • Phlebotomy, cannulation and ECG skills
  • Diploma/BSc in Nursing/relevant subject or equivalent
