Elevate your career as a Pharmacy Technician with an unparalleled job opportunity across Croydon Health Services, Epsom & St Helier and Kingston Hospitals.
When you submit an application under any of the hospitals mentioned, you only need to complete 1 application and attend 1 interview to be considered for a Band 4 Dispensary Pharmacy Technician position at any of the three hospitals: Croydon Health Services, Epsom & St Helier, or Kingston Hospital.
For instance, if you apply to Epsom & St Helier, your application will also automatically be considered for a job Croydon Health Services and Kingston Hospital as well. During the interview, you'll be able to choose your preferred hospital for employment.
This means you have 3 job opportunities with just 1 application.
This opportunity is open to recently qualified technicians or those about to register, from both community and hospital backgrounds.
Main duties of the job
Your morning starts with a quick huddle with the Principal Technician and the rest of the team. We're talking medication guidelines, formulary changes, and any special tasks that need extra attention. After the briefing, it's time to dive into the nitty-gritty: managing stock levels, coordinating orders, and ensuring everything is running smoothly. You're the go-to person for stock questions, liaising with the Pharmacy Store and keeping pharmacists and ward staff in the loop.
As the day unfolds, you're mentoring and guiding pharmacy technicians, pre-registration trainees, and pharmacy assistants. You're the expert and make sure everyone is following the right procedures. You're also a key player in training and development, helping to shape the future of the pharmacy team.
In the afternoon, it's time to think big. You're working closely with the Principal Technician to identify areas where we can improve. This might mean planning new procedures, auditing existing ones, or updating policies. It's all about ensuring we're delivering the best possible service to our patients.
As your shift winds down, you review outstanding tasks, update stock records, and get the pharmacy ready for the next day.
This is just a glimpse into a day as a pharmacy technician at ESTH. If you're someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys problem-solving, and are passionate about mentoring the next generation of technicians, this role might be the perfect opportunity for you.
