We are looking for Nurses who have knowledge and experience of caring for children and their families, are able to communicate sensitively and will put the needs of our children at the centre of everything they do to create a safe and positive environment. We have a range of shifts available.

Starlight children's ward is a 18 bedded unit with an additional 4 beds for when we do surgery.

We are a friendly supportive team that is passionate about delivering first class care to the children and families that access our service, whilst working in collaboration with the multi-disciplinary team. We provide holistic family centred care that we are proud of and know and that we know makes a difference to the outcomes for the children and families.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will practice within a team of nursing staff, and act as allocated nurse for a group of patients: assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating their care needs. The post holder will not require direct supervision and will be expected to co-ordinate a ward area activities providing direction to junior staff.

The post holder will work within the multi-disciplinary team providing high quality care in partnership with children and families referring as appropriate to relevant services.
