University Hospitals of Derby and Burton (UHDB) is looking to recruit a an individual to provide leadership for the unlicensed aseptic preparation of medicines. You undertake the role of the Accountable Pharmacist and join a a team of individuals leading the aseptic preparation of medicines within the Trust.
UHDB provides aseptically prepared medicines under a MHRA Manufacturer's Specials Licence and also under Section 10 exemption in three operational aseptic units. The aseptic service provision is supported by an onsite Quality Control laboratory providing environmental monitoring and testing for the Pharmacy aseptic units and UHDB Radio pharmacy.
We have an ambition to ensure that technical services are a key component of delivering safe and timely medicines supply to patients and this post has a critical leadership role to ensure that medicines supply is safe, effective and compliant with regulatory standards.
As we look towards developing and aligning our service across the organisation this role will play an important part in shaping the technical service provision for the future.

Main duties of the job
To ensure exceptional care together is provided in line with UHDB Trust values
Acts as the Accountable Pharmacist for aseptic preparation of medicines, in accordance with the requirements of the Quality Assurance of Aseptic Preparation Services and Good Manufacturing Practice standards.Support the Chief Pharmacist to lead, deliver, develop and evaluate the pharmacy aseptic service delivered under section 10 exemption of the Medicines Act 1968 and Regulation 4 of the Human Medicines Regulations 2012, in accordance with national priorities and local objectives.
Ensure patients have timely access to the medicines they need, through the operation of a robust, cost effective, patient orientated aseptic item supply, making optimal use of facilities and equipment.
To lead the unlicensed pharmacy aseptic team, acting as a role model and developing the team in line with the needs of the service
