We are looking for an experienced Pharmacy Technician to join our Aseptic services team.
The role will be focused on Aseptic Services and operationally support both the Radiopharmacy and our Outsourced dose banded medicines services. The successful candidate will also deliver and support training at all levels within the Aseptic Unit.
Experience of aseptic services is essential with previous Radiopharmacy experience desirable.
This post may be offered under Annex 21 AfC Terms & Conditions or as a progressional post, subject to experience, competency and suitability.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will be responsible for organising and supervising Pharmacists, Pharmacy Technicians, Pharmacy Assistant Technical Officers (PATOs) within the Aseptic suite, incorporating Radiopharmacy, Aseptic services and Outsourced dose banded medicines. Covering for and supporting other Senior Pharmacy Technicians in this area as and when necessary. Additionally they will organise and supervise the training of all grades of staff in Aseptic Services and Radiopharmacy.
The post holder will collaborate with Quality Control Staff to ensure high standards of practice and adherence to quality management systems.

Essential
- NVQ Level 3/ BTEC in Pharmacy Services or equivalent nationally recognised qualificatio
- Current registration with the GPhC as a Pharmacy Technician
- Validated operator in Aseptic Services
- Mandatory CPD to maintain fitness to practice
- Willingness to undertake IOSH
Desirable
- Accredited Checking Pharmacy Technician
- Pre and In-Process Checking (PIP-C) qualification
Experience
Essential
- Recent operational experience working within a conventional Aseptic Unit
- Good dispensing/ distribution/ manufacturing practice, knowledge of stock control and procurement systems

- Experience with an Electronic Prescribing & /or IT Systems, Experience in writing policies /guidelines
- Experience of maintaining a Quality Management System, including management of change, investigation of errors and deviations
