This is a new role for a very senior psychological professional to lead on the coordination and strategic delivery of evidence-based psychological therapies across all directorates within Devon Partnership Trust. Working closely with the Head of Psychological Professions and Strategic Leads based in each clinical directorate, this role will support appropriate strategic planning to increase and sustain provision of specified psychological therapies and ensure appropriate supervision, training and governance processes are in place for each. The role will also take governance leadership responsibilities for other agreed specified areas of psychological practice, such as post-incident staff support within DPT and provide psychological practice expertise to the Devon Integrated Care System where appropriate. There has been an enormous expansion and diversification of psychological professionals in DPT over recent years and this role is key to guiding the next stages of development of psychological practice within the Trust as part of delivering on the overall Trust strategy.

As well as the provision of a small amount of direct clinical work and supervision in an area of specialist expertise, the person in this role will work with Strategic Leads across all Directorates, workforce and training leads and practice educators to plan, enable and ensure robust governance of high quality Psychological Therapies practice across the whole organisation. This includes supporting future workforce planning, training needs and supervision requirements for the delivery of formal model-based Psychological Therapies. The post-holder will be responsible for an initial review of all therapy models and a gap analysis of need to improve the Trusts current position as well as the development of a strategic plan for ongoing practice development and improvement. The role will also lead on the organisation and development of post-incident staff support across the Trust, ensuring that appropriate evidence-based support is available, high quality and well governed. The post-holder will also provide psychological expertise and represent both psychological professions and DPT in a range of internal and external forums.
